چکیده

In the behavioral sciences, response variables are often noncontinuous, common types being dichotomous, ordinal or nominal variables, counts and durations. Conventional structural equation models (SEMs) have thus been generalized to accommodate different kinds of responses.

Bayesian Analysis of Multiple Group Nonlinear Structural Equation Models with Ordered Categorical and Dichotomous Variables: A Survey

This paper is designed to give a complete overview of the literature that is available, as it relates to application of the Bayesian analysis model to investigate multiple group nonlinear structural equation models, also known as SEMs, including those having ordered categorical, dichotomous and categorical-dichotomous mixed variables. It will also work to summarize Bayesian multiple group nonli...

Generalized Multilevel Structural Equation Modeling

A unifying framework for generalized multilevel structural equation modeling is introduced. The models in the framework, called generalized linear latent and mixed models (GLLAMM), combine features of generalized linear mixed models (GLMM) and structural equation models (SEM) and consist of a response model and a structural model for the latent variables. The response model generalizes GLMMs to...

A New Nonlinear Specification of Structural Breaks for Money Demand in Iran

In a structural time series regression model, binary variables have been used to quantify qualitative or categorical quantitative events such as politic and economic structural breaks, regions, age groups and etc. The use of the binary dummy variables is not reasonable because the effect of an event decreases (increases) gradually over time not at once. The simple and basic idea in this paper i...

A Comparison: Traditional Canonical Correlation Analysis versus the Mimic/sem Approach Using a Multi- Group Study of Corporate Size versus Profitability

This study employs the use of two methods of canonical correlation analysis to investigate the relationship between two latent variables: corporation “size” and “profitability”. The variables examined are divided into an independent set of variables representing the latent variable “size”, and a dependent set of variables representing the latent variable called “profitability”. The first method...

Model Fit in Structural Equation Models with Censored, Ordinal, and Dichotomous Variables: Testing Vanishing Tetrads

Although the methodology for handling ordinal and dichotomous observed variables in structural equation models (SEMs) is developing rapidly, several important issues are unresolved. One of these is the optimal test statistic to apply as a test of overall model fit. We propose a new ‘‘vanishing tetrad’’ test statistic for such models. We build on Bollen’s (1990) simultaneous test statistic for t...
